Challenges
Hey! Thanks for visiting my blog! If there's anything that you dare me to do while in Roma, just comment on a blog post or shoot me an email. I will complete the task and then post a story about it. Looking forward to your challenges!

Back to Basics
Today before work I busied myself with necessary Rome prep that probably should have been done a few weeks ago. Mom would be cringing at my procrastination. I pulled out some clothes, organized design supplies, and took a trip to Verizon Wireless. I have acquired a global phone named the Escapade. Its sheer primitiveness compared to my Droid makes my jaw drop. No Facebook, no Google Maps, just straight up calling and messaging. How will I ever survive?!? I think I'm having 3G separation anxiety. I'm just glad that my parents can now sleep at night knowing that if I ever step off the curb and get hit by a Vespa, they will be alerted promptly via my "new" technology, as long as I'm still able to dial.

Apartment
How exciting! The address for my home in Rome is as follows:
Viale di Trastevere, 231, apt. 6, 4th floor. Building B.
I have Google mapped the route from the apartment to studio (yes I just used Google maps as a verb) and it appears that I am 1.8 miles from the building. That'll be a heck of a walk. Or a fun ride on public trans. I attempted to do a street view and I could see the street but couldn't get a good view of the building itself so pictures will be posted later =]

Address
Hello All! If you will be sending me snail mail in Rome, continue reading. If not, well boo to you and feel free to disregard. Actually, I take that back, continue reading.
Here is the address (it's the studio):
Iowa State University Rome Program
Piazza delle Cinque Scole, 23
00186 Rome, Italy
And if it's a package, please mark with "gifts" or "used personal items" to avoid annoying customs searches.
Now for those of you who would like to receive something from me and Rome (yes even those who don't want to send me anything =] ), please email/facebook message me your address and you will get a surprise in the mail. (Who doesn't like surprises??)

I Don't Blog Very Often, But When I Do, It's About Rome.
Well hello, I didn't see you there. It seems that you have stumbled upon my blog, whether by chance or circumstance. Welcome.
I know everybody and their dog blogs these days, therefore, the creation of my own blog doesn't seem as original an idea as I would like, which makes me feel less unique. Despite this hit to my self-image, I feel the necessity to continue.
The purpose of this blog is to adequately document my fall semester in Roma, Italia and to share this experience with friends, family, and random bloggers. This documentation shall be accomplished via written entries, photos, and videos. My hope is that 20 years from now I can look back on this public journal and think, "Dude, that was a sweet time." (Will I really still be saying 'dude' when I'm 40? My instincts say yes, sorry Mom.)
Although most of you would rather be in Rome than just read about it, I'll show you what it's like from my perspective. So thanks for reading; I promise it'll be an interesting ride.
